Five on Friday- Pity Party!

1.  I'm looking and feeling real pregnant.  I don't remember how many weeks I am (and forgot to check at the doctor this morning), but I've got less than 2 month to go.  So, about 33 weeks?

I snapped these before work this morning.  I don't even want to look at where I was with Deeds at this stage.  It will depress me.
Good gracious.  Apparently the baby's head is all pushed up against my ribs- possibly the reason why I am throwing up a few times a week.  Still.

Generally, I really like being short.  I enjoy buying clothes on sale in the petite section.  I like that I can always wear heels no matter the height of my escort.  Pregnancy, however?  I need a number of inches.  This baby ain't got no room.

I think it's a girl, by the way.

2.  Here comes the rest of the pity party.

I HAVE A COLD!

I was telling one of my best friends this yesterday and her reaction was the best.  "Oh, Samma!  A summer cold?  While pregnant?  That is the worst!!".

Yes!  It is terrible.  I feel very sorry for myself, ha!  Don't you love when someone is so sympathetic and pities you when you need it?

3.  Easy, Tasty and Healthy Supper!

I made this (from Redbook this month) for dinner last night and it was excellent.  I can't find the recipe online, but here are the basics:

Ingredients:
1/3 cup olive oil
4 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed
2 Tablespoons kosher salt
2 Tablespoons paprika (smoked or regular)
2 Teaspoons cumin
1/2 cup parsley, plus more for garnish

1 3 lb chicken, cut into pieces (or I used 3 lbs of drumsticks)
2 cans chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
2 pints cherry or grape tomatoes

Mix the first 6 ingredients together well.  Marinate the chicken, chickpeas, and tomatoes in the mixture, coating well for a few hours up to overnight.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Dump chicken and the rest into a roasting pan or casserole dish, and bake for 30-35 minutes depending on how crunchy you like your chickpeas.

Serve with crusty bread!  Delish!

4.  Soccer!

DH had her first soccer practice last night- she was thrilled!  Morgan took her, as it was during Deeds' bedtime.  I was bummed to miss it, then I heard the coach had the parents running drills with the kids.  Ha!  Miss Pitiful right here was fine with missing that!

5.  The kids' new room, which they are sharing, is a shambles so far, but Dell Harper is in!  Now just to transition Deeds to big boy bed and room sharing.  Any suggestions?  I'm rather concerned that they will just giggle into the night.  We keep putting it off, but I'm starting to get the middle of the night nesting to-do list wake-ups.  Thank goodness school is back in!  Time to get cracking!
Thanks to the Five on Friday gals for hosting the linkup!

Aug 15, 2016

Hello, Hello!

I'm still kicking- although without much force of late.   As Dell Harper would say "I'm having a hard time."   My back is out, I'm still throwing up, and just generally feeling real pregnant.  But I have a couple months to go, and a lot to get done.

Today is a new day, however, and I am THRILLED that school is back in!!!!

Love all the first day pictures flooding my feeds.  I always loved going back to school (nerd alert!).  From school supplies to finding out who was in your classes?  Such a thrill.  Until I got to law school- then my anticipation was more like dread, ha!

Anyway, thanks for your encouragement to keep up with posting.  I am pretty slammed with work this week, but now that I have a bit more time  to myself, posts will occur more frequently.
