HELP! I need Christmas Gifts!

For me!  I'm so bad at this!  We send out lists to my in-laws and exchange our gifts.  I'm terrible at producing such wish list.  Last year I asked for donations to the Opera, and this year I'd like to do the same, as well as the Blount Mansion.  However, I'm not sure how well that went over, so I need to come up with some tangible things this year.

I'm asking for new Southern Living and Garden and Gun subscriptions, but what else can I ask for that's around thirty bones or under?

I wouldn't mind asking for a golden retriever salad plate-
I could get one every year, so I won't have to go through this rigmarole.  They would look great with my simple gold rimmed fine china.  Have I lost my mind?

Probably, since I told Hubs that i really want a Dyson for Christmas.  The animal hair one.  But it has to be his present from me as well.

Asking for a vacuum cleaner for Christmas?  No wonder I have a fantasy life involving too much costume jewelry.

Y'all, please give me ideas besides dog china!!

  1. Oh my goodness, I am useless in this! I am having the worst time coming up for gift ideas this year. For me, for friends and family--everyone. I feel like I've already used every possible idea in years past. Sads.

  2. Um. I asked for more Christmas Spode and Fiestaware this year. Also? A food processor. 'Nary a clothing item in sight. What has my life become?

  3. Oh my goodness, yall have Spode too! I think some of my girlfriends thought I was crazy for picking it but my father-in- law (who passed away before we married) had half a set that we inherited. Looks beautiful under my gold chargers. Hope you get some more!!

  5. Are there any books you want? Or cookbooks? Fragrances?

My husband and I keep an Amazon wish list throughout out the year and we can add things to it as we see things we'd like. Makes it SO easy at holidays and birthdays!

  6. I think asking for the plates is perfect! It is an easy gift they can get you each year and a meaningful gift that cn become a tradition!

As for the vacuum, M and I got a dishwasher from his mom. I asked my dad for a small embroidery machine...

  7. You're too funny! I had no idea there was such a thing as golden retriever plates! My mom was begging for a list so I gave her a few little items: Ina Garten's new cookbook, Restoration Hardware slippers, salt & pepper shakers to match my PB dishes and an infinity/loop scarf.

  8. The salad plates are fun!

I also asked for some new stationery (that was monogrammed). The rest of it was house stuff. Depressing but also sort of exciting.

  9. I desperately want the black lab variant of that Spode pattern. I've always thought it would make for amazing Thanksgiving/fall/winter settings. Plus, it looks like Max and Sophie! ;)

  10. If asking for a vacuum is wrong, I don't want to be right! I, too, asked for the Dyson and I cannot wait to get it! What could be more blissful than a dog-hair-free sofa?

  12. We actually have this set except it is the "Stag" version. I never though I'd have deer on my dinnerware!
