Up In The Gym Just Working On My Fitness Happy Prize

Happy Friday Y'all!  I am ready- I think I have a dash of the winter doldrums.  Normally they do not hit me until February, but I can't take it anymore!  One cure is a good sweaty workout, which always puts me in a better mood. 

I really ejoy exercise, and even if I don't feel like it, I know I will feel like a new woman when it's over.  And it allows me to eat more.  My schedule usually goes like this:

Monday- 1 hour with trainer
Tuesday- run 3-4 miles, abs
Wednesday- workout dvd, or elliptical
Thursday- one hour with trainer
Friday- run 3-4 miles
Saturday- off, walk or light workout
Sunday- long run

So doing that and eating mainly unprocessed food during the week, I can eat and drink whatever I want within reason on the weekends, yet still fit into my clothes.


So two of my favorite workout DVDs are the happy for today.






Jillian's is about an hour of fun cardio intervals, and the Pilates consists of 10 minutes each of tummy, buns, legs and then 10 minutes of all over.  These are 2 of my favorites, which I love on cross training days.

  3. Good for you - keep up the good work! Do you find that it's difficult to stay motivated with an at-home work-out. Sometimes that's hard for me. Perhaps by changing up the routine, that helps.

  5. Great schedule! I don't think I've ever done any of Jillians workouts, but I heard they're tough! My favorite workout is Body Attack! SO sorry to hear about your gym- that stinks!

  7. I love doing pull ups. It's my fave. And boo to sweepers!!!

  10. I just tried the Jillian Michael's DVD from a friend and it was great! Kicked my behind, but that's what I need! :)
    After my running in the mornings, I will come home from class and do a yoga booty ballet or carmen electra cardio striptease, just to get a little more movement in and then abs every other day!

  11. I really love Jillian's 30 day shred. Well, actually, I dont know that I should say "love" because 1/2 of the time i find that I really want to kick her in the face. She does provide a good workout though!

  12. I've been wanting to try Jillian Micheal's 30-day shred, but I'm scared... For a lazy-ass like me, it could be traumatizing!

  13. I've actually been going to Jazzercize at the gym. I was afraid it was going to be cheesy, but I've been sweating my buns off. I picked up 30 day shred, but I'm scared of Jillian and haven't tried it yet.

    I've been doing the 30 Day Shred and I love it...I'm really keen to try these out too (hint hint)!!!

  16. I love some Yoga, but haven't been working out much (or at all) lately. It seems I lost some motivation. Maybe a few new DVDs would help! :)

  18. I love the Crunch workout video and actually use the yoga/pilates crunch video to work out to. It's the perfect combo of both forms and it makes you sweat!

    On days where I actually drag myself to the gym I'll usually do a spin class. I feel like that's the best leg workout I'll ever get!

    Anyway, I've had the Pilates one for at least seven years. Love it.
    I want the Jillian Michaels one because my favorite WAS her 30 Day Shred until I somehow lost it sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. How one manages to lose a DVD, I do not know....

  21. i just started the 30 day shred and so far i really like it (as much as anyone can like sweating and looking like a fool for 20 minutes) but my favorite workout video is an old kathy kaehler/claudia schiffer set of vhs tapes...i miss those!!

    i would looove to win the other jillian dvd to add that to my routine!
