Hair Do's or "Does your dress have to go over your head? "*

So lest y'all think with all this book talk, Spice and Sass is going egghead, today we are talking hair.

So my big event is coming up, and I have listening to my commenters, and went with the blue dress.  Plus, now I can eat more chocolate cake, due its more forgiving nature in the tummy regions.  So now it's time for hair! I never wear my hair up (well, except when I oversleep and pull my tangled tresses into a semblance of a bun for work).  However, with the back of the dress, I think my hair should be in some sort of up-do.
Refresher-

Here's what I am leaning towards-

What do y'all think?  I am wearing big dramatic earrings, asouth sea pearl cocktail ring, and a couple big bracelets.  Here's the earrings-

f I did do half up I like this look from the SAG Awards-

Thoughts?  Ideas? I need help.
*Once again, if you have never heard this line, we are no longer friends.  This one is a bit tougher though.

Ooh, I have a very special happy for y'all tomorrow.  I miscounted the Fridays in January so it's been extended though tomorrow.  Here's a hint-

  1. I sort of like the first hairdo, but I'd need to see your earrings, since you said they are dramatic. Can you post a picture?

  3. Love Michelle Williams' hairstyle. I think that would look lovely. The quote is from "Steel Magnolias" correct?

  4. I vote for the Michelle Williams hairstyle - it's technically an updo and is elegant, but kind of messy (in a good way) and doesn't look too "done" (like a bad prom hairdo). I think it would go great with the style of your dress. I love that quote - I can almost hear Darryl Hannah saying it as we speak!

  8. Ummm, Steel Magnolias quote, thankyouverymuch. I can't watch that entire movie, I had a turn off point and rarely, rarely watch past that.

I think the Michelle Williams style would look great on you!

  12. Yes, SM and "laughter through tears is my favorite emotion" is my favorite quote from that movie. You'll look great either way. Just ask them not to put to much hairspray (no helmets)...I think the looser the better. Love your blog. I'm new to all of this blogginess and find myself reading yours first! Cheers.
