Before:
A hideous, yet supremely comfortable, sectional which was quite pricey in 1977, and the host to all my childhood and teenage sleepovers, as well as my best naps.
After:
I'll put this in the words of my father, "Hell, I want it back!".
I'm recovering the pillows as well, but I'm sewing those myself. I'm planning on getting them done next weekend, but seeing as how I'm not busy or anything. . . .huh.
Okay, I'm off to Charleston for Rachael's glorious wedding weekend! I'll be back with lots of pictures and stories, I'm sure. Y'all have lovely weekends!
Wow - what a transformation! It looks like a brand new Pottery Barn sectional now! Amazing. Can't wait to see how your pillows turn out. I'm so impressed you're sewing them yourself!

ReplyDeleteFabulous! This is uber-impressive.
ReplyDeletelooks awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks amazing. I can't wait to see the new pillows as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you think of just getting a new couch? It's really worn out, and the beige only makes it look worse.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Samma! I can't wait to see the room when it is all finished!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! You'll be happy when you have kiddos that you can wash the slip covers too. Happy wedding weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Anonymous, I did think of getting a new couch, but I couldn't afford it! Maybe you can't tell in pictures, but it looks a ton better in person! Especially when I get my pillows done. I like to use and re-use old things anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great...especially since you've done so much of it yourself!
ReplyDeleteWow - what an amazing job your upholsterer did! (and your vision to bring it all together - seeing the "before" pictures you posted - I'll admit I was skeptical! It's just lovely, and how cool to have something in your home with lots of family memories.
ReplyDeleteHey hater! You obviously have never been on this couch. It is the most comfortable piece of furntiture on Earth.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job! Its streamlined and looks super comfy!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThat couch looks 100% updated and 100% different! very good job! Did you buy those covers or did you sew those also?
ReplyDeleteI think they look amazing- what a transformation! I would love to have a great sectional couch in my den!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! What a good way to reuse and save!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so great now! I bet you're wishing you'd done that a long time ago... Love the piping detail, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat transformation! Can't wait to see the pattern(s) you have chosen for the pillows.
ReplyDeleteSamma I bow down to your domestic goddessness (not a word, I know). I have that couch's identical twin! It desperately needs recovering because I couldn't imagine parting with it and shelling out like 4 grand for a new potter barn version that wouldnt be as comfy.
ReplyDeleteTell me you didn't actually do this yourself? Did you buy a pattern? Can you explain to me how to do this as well. Seriously my couch has the exact same lines.
Oh Anonymous, when you get your panties out of your hiney and have better things to do than put down those you don't know, then maybe we'll listen:) Anywho...I am with Leigh to the Anonymous ass who obviously is jealous that they never got to lay all over the most comortable old thing you have ever been on in your life!! Great Job, Samma!!! Old Blue lives on forever!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!! What an awesome transformation.
ReplyDeleteThere's something so awesome about perfect couches... way to give it a new life!
