TA- DA!

 Before:

A hideous, yet supremely comfortable, sectional which was quite pricey in 1977, and the host to all my childhood and teenage sleepovers, as well as my best naps.

After:
I'll put this in the words of my father, "Hell, I want it back!".

I'm recovering the pillows as well, but I'm sewing those myself.  I'm planning on getting them done next weekend, but seeing as how I'm not busy or anything. . . .huh.

Okay, I'm off to Charleston for Rachael's glorious wedding weekend!  I'll be back with lots of pictures and stories, I'm sure.  Y'all have lovely weekends!

  1. Wow - what a transformation! It looks like a brand new Pottery Barn sectional now! Amazing. Can't wait to see how your pillows turn out. I'm so impressed you're sewing them yourself!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Did you think of just getting a new couch? It's really worn out, and the beige only makes it look worse.

  7. Oh, Anonymous, I did think of getting a new couch, but I couldn't afford it! Maybe you can't tell in pictures, but it looks a ton better in person! Especially when I get my pillows done. I like to use and re-use old things anyway.

  9. Wow - what an amazing job your upholsterer did! (and your vision to bring it all together - seeing the "before" pictures you posted - I'll admit I was skeptical! It's just lovely, and how cool to have something in your home with lots of family memories.

  17. Samma I bow down to your domestic goddessness (not a word, I know). I have that couch's identical twin! It desperately needs recovering because I couldn't imagine parting with it and shelling out like 4 grand for a new potter barn version that wouldnt be as comfy.

Tell me you didn't actually do this yourself? Did you buy a pattern? Can you explain to me how to do this as well. Seriously my couch has the exact same lines.

Oh Anonymous, when you get your panties out of your hiney and have better things to do than put down those you don't know, then maybe we'll listen:) Anywho...I am with Leigh to the Anonymous ass who obviously is jealous that they never got to lay all over the most comortable old thing you have ever been on in your life!! Great Job, Samma!!! Old Blue lives on forever!
