All Covered Up

So this is my first year chasing a toddler around the pool.  It is interesting, but presents a whole host of issues when it comes to swimwear.  It is a lot more aerobic than my former activities which consisted of reading, floating, sipping and lounging.

(Oh, to lounge!  How I miss thee).

Since I am now chasing, climbing, squatting, and lugging,  I am more interested in covering it up.  Thankfully, there are so many cute cover-ups floating around these days.

Any of these from Anthropologie will be a would be welcome additions to my closet.  One of the blessings of a short stature is that they also have the possibility to become dresses.

Lilly Pulitzer also provides some beauties:

Normally, I am not a mesh person, as it harkens images of practice football jerseys and/or the Jersey Shore, but the pom pom fringe on this one is swaying me-

And then I am dying over all the Roberta Roller Rabbit prints-

I just love that classic Kurta.

With one of these hippie/preppy/boho numbers I would be able to sport my bikini with pride, known there is a cute, chic cover-up in my bag if things get dicey (i.e. I eat a cheeseburger for lunch or Dell Harper decide to chase a flock of seagulls).

Any of these catch your fancy?

  1. Oh my my, these are some CUTE options! I just ordered a plain cover up from Athleta along with a swimsuit the other day. May need one of these too! You know...for the days I also eat a cheeseburger for lunch :)

  2. These ALL caught my eye! Love the patterns, too! I saw the cutest Trina Turk coverup at TJMaxx and was glad it was too big or else I would've had to have it

  3. The pink Lilly one has the prettiest details. I know exactly what you mean about chasing the babe around--def need something to keep things decent!

  4. So so cute, all of these! For me, I'm vigilant about sun protection. Both of my parents and my Grampy have had skin tags or skin cancer removed and JM had outpatient surgery to remove pre-melanoma cells last year. I have my wide brimmed hat, a baseball hat, lots of SPF, and am stocking up on flowy, pretty tunics adn maxi dresses to stay out of the rays.

  5. Love many of these options, especially the ones from Anthropologie. Good for you to be able to donn a bikini under them. After my kiddos, I had to move on to the mom suit with skirt. :)
