Nutella Mug Cake

Okay, so next pin I tried was Nutella Mug Cakes.

Looks amazing right?  Well, they were certainly tasty, but honestly, a bit of a disaster.

I doubled the recipe, and poured half in a big mug for Hubs and the remainder for myself. Well, unless you use the kind of mugs that they used to drink coffee out of at Central Perk in Friends (remember those massive bowls of coffee- so 90's- coffee shops!  hip!), you are going to end up with a chocolate volcano in your microwave.  I should have taken a picture of the mess, but I was frantically trying to clean it up (eat the overflow), before Hubs realized what a mess I was making in our clean kitchen (I had already broken a coffee mug in the process of making these "five minute" cakes).

So, use the original recipe but split it in between 2 mugs please.  Also, this will be better for your waistline. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but each of the mug cakes have about 900 calories!  Now, if I was to skip dinner, or run a marathon, that would be an acceptable amount of calories for a snack.  However, I have no desire to do either, so half the recipe will be sufficient in the future.  Because although tasty, it wasn't 900 calories tasty- you may feel differently though.

Hey- you win some you lose some.  At least Miss Priss has been having a growth spurt and gorging on milk.  Maybe that is burning some extra calories?

Thanks for your sweet words about my crazy curly hair- I'll do a more detailed instruction post on drying with the diffuser this week.

Any Pinterest finds which have failed or succeeded spectacularly for you?
