Floods

Originally this post was going to be on my aunt who modeled for Pucci, and how much fun my mom had meeting the designer and playing in his studio.  However, that post will have to wait for tomorrow, as my aunt needs all your prayers right now.  An incredible artist, she recently moved back to the South from L.A., to Leiper's Fork, Tennessee.  Which is right outside of Nashville.  Which is devastated by the recent floods.

This is my aunt's garden, and her neighbor's car which has floated over.

Here is her front porch-

Mama drove over yesterday with a shop-vac and some energy.  Unfortunately, although flood insurance covers damages to her home, the contents inside are not covered.  There is at least two feet of water on her first floor, no electricity, and mold is rapidly setting in.  Luckily, my aunt and her beloved pets are safe, but her home is destroyed.  Please pray for those in Nashville and the surrounding areas.  Almost thirty people have died, and so many more have lost their homes.  If you want to help please check out Hands On Nashville, an excellent volunteer organziation, or the Red Cross.

  5. Praying for your aunt and everyone else in Nashville. Some neighborhoods over here in Memphis flooded but not nearly as extensive as Nashville. Can't even imagine what a disaster this must be. Sending good thought to you and your family

  8. I live in Nashville and luckily my house was not affected, so I was very blessed in that since; however, I have friends and loved ones who suffered complete loss of their homes, cars, pets, etc. We are not getting much national media coverage, and I don't think people are really aware of the gravity of the situation if they're not near the area, but it is absolutely devastating. I am so sorry for your aunt and will say a little prayer for her. Thanks for keeping Nashville in your thoughts!

  9. It is so tragic for those people in Nashville and the surrounding areas. I feel so badly for your aunt. One couple on TV last night had been in their home 1 day when they had to evacuate and lost everything. xoxo

  10. So sorry about your aunt's house! What a catastrophe all around there. My parents farm was completely under water too. Higher than anyone had ever seen or predicted. Their house was luckily safe, but it sounded like a nightmare. Sending my prayers to TN for sure.
