So after a beautiful Saturday on the beach, we all congregated back at the Beach Barn for some beverages on the porch, joined by Abby and Graydon, then Will and Katie who we did not know would be down at Watercolor- super fun surprise!
Abby and I talked our faces off.
The four of us made mahi mahi tacos, and had some wine, since Abby and Graydon's two little ones were fast asleep with a babysitter (whoohoo!).
Abby's parents dropped by for a post dinner adult beverage.
Then we realized they were an hour over on their babysitter, and it was time to get home. Personally, I like to hit the hay early at the beach, so I can not waste a minute of my day by sleeping, so I too was zonked out by midnight. All so I could enjoy this tomorrow-
Then the clouds came in and the thunder began.
So I decided it was safe to hit up my favorite hole in the wall- Seagrove Market, and have this for lunch-
Mmmmmmmm, fried grouper sandwich. Oh, they gave me the choice of grilled. I thought about it, then realized I was not going to be in a bikini the rest of the day, so bring on the grease!
Grave mistake.
Forty-five minutes later I'm pulling my bikini back on. I decide to start drinking beer on the beach to deal with any tummy issue insecurity. Great diet plan, huh?
This (please see the bloat below) is why I am currently on day 3 of a Blueprint Cleanse. Oh well, it was worth it. Also, I just realized how embarassingly matching Hubs and I are in this picture. I like to coordinate for events (ala Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith), but double visors and Lilly suits are a bit much. Apologies.
So after a long and lovely afternoon of beers on the beach with Will and Katie, Hubs and I decided to scrap our white tablecloth dinner at Cafe Thirty A in favor of hitting the Red Bar with them.
Then on to Bud and Alleys for a little dancing.
A fabulous weekend filled with oysters, crab, shrimp and grouper. Normally I go into a deep dark funk when I leave the beach, but luckily this was our departing weather-
Bye Beach Barn! See you in six weeks!
Seriously. that's what I said as we drove away from the front porch. Hubs looked at me askance, then nodded and waved goodbye.
Great pics!! Love the dancing - TOO cute. You have such great friends, and an adorable swim suit!
ReplyDeleteWhat a small world - I was an AOII at UT years ago, and haven't seen Debbie in ages! She still looks amazing. It looks like you had a fantastic trip!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys are having a blast! Can't wait until our beach vacation in a couple of weeks. Beers at noon, cocktails at 5 p.m., ah, vacation!
ReplyDeleteHoly mother of yum. Fried grouper sandwich and fries? YUMMMMMMM!! And you look great! How fun. How I love the beach!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect way to start summer, matching Lilly suits and all.
