A Wrapped Axe

So, we had about 70-80 people over to my parents house Saturday for a couples tool shower for my dear friend, Bill and his bride-to-be Katie.  There were tons of hosts, and everyone brought dishes, which made it pretty easy.  I was a bit concerned about whether I had made enough green beans- about to pull out my hair!  Not really- I don't know what I'm doing above, but that picture makes me laugh.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, which meant that half the party was on the porch and patio.  Isn't Katie's dress cute?  She got it from Anthropologie.

Here's the table before all the food was out- isn't that arrangement gorgeous?  One of the (grown-up) hosts did it.  I need to take a flower arranging class- someday. We had fried chicken, green beans, tea biscuits, potato salad, and deviled eggs- perfect way to celebrate the coming of summer.

Here's all the (kid) hosts, and guests of honor- our parents were hosts as well.  I don't know where Hubs is- think he was hiding from the camera.

Katie:  "What do I call this?"
Bill "It's an axe, sweetheart."

Then the party moved to Toddy's for some darts, horseshoes, and beers.
As you can imagine, after Sunday School. church, lunch with Hubs, picking up all the post-party recycling at my parents' house, and eating a couple pieces of cold fried chicken, I was ready for an epic nap- replete with full on pajama wearing, closed blinds, under the covers with the fan blowing.  It was glorious!

It was a great weekend- I'll pass recipes on tomorrow.  Any parties for y'all?  Pretty weather?
