Some Tailgate Recipes

First up- Fat Girl Sammies-

Similar to what I call Mississippi Krystals (those Swiss cheese, ham and poppy seed thingies which are another fantastic tailgating/shower recipe), Fat Girl Sammies are bite size, yet filling and substantial. Extremely helpful when you are tailgating all day (while drinking beer, bourbon, or in my case Saturday, Firefly).

They are so simple, yet amazingly delicious. This makes two trays. Take two packs of Hawaiian rolls, slice down the middle (slicing the rolls in half).

Heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Dice a pound of deli smoked turkey and a pound of deli sliced ham. Mix with 4 cups of shredded sharp cheddar (you can cheat and use pre-shredded cheese), and mustard and mayo to taste (and also to bind it all together.

In each individual roll, tear out some of the center, and stuff it with the ham/turkey mixture. Replace the top of the roll, cram them all in an aluminum baking tray, and bake for about 15 minutes.

Ready to be demolished by hungry tailgaters!!!

Next up is a Paula Deen recipe for Bacon Crisps.

They ain't purty, but they taste so good. Take a Club cracker, sprinkle some shredded parm, then wrap in half a piece of bacon. Place of a broiler tray and back at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Heaven!!

  4. They both look so good, especially the bacon and parmesan cheese! How can you go wrong with those ingredients?
